In the bustling city of Pattaya, Thailand, city authorities, spearheaded by Bancha Kullavanijaya, the Council’s Secretary, have officially opened the Water Safety and Convenience Centre. This inauguration, which took place on December 28, is a key part of the festivities planned for the New Year 2024. The ceremony was held at the Pattaya Bali Hai Pier and was overseen by Puripat Theerakulpisut, the Deputy Director-General of the Marine Department for Safety.

The Maritime Safety and Convenience Hub is an initiative designed to bolster safety and ease of use in maritime activities, particularly during the New Year holiday period. The project is centered on enhancing the safety of all maritime operations in Pattaya, with a strong emphasis on awareness, responsibility, and compliance with safety standards by boat operators, crew members, and those in charge of vessel safety.

The initiative also seeks to implement effective safety measures, provide convenience, and foster safety awareness among the general public. The campaign’s motto, “Safe Pier, Safe Boat, Safe People,” perfectly encapsulates the commitment to upholding maritime safety standards.

In the event of emergencies or pressing maritime incidents, the public is urged to reach out to the Pattaya Branch Marine Office at 038-111278 or the Marine Department hotline at 1199, which is operational 24 hours a day.
